Kept

Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026

The Kept app keeps your records on your device. The app has no server, no account, and no analytics. We can't see your logbook, because we never receive it. This website, kepthomeschool.com, counts visits in aggregate — see “This website” below.

What Kept stores, and where

Everything you log — children, subjects, minutes, notes, photos, and the reports Kept builds from them — is saved in the app's storage on your own device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not stored on any server we operate. We operate no server.

Backups are yours

When you save a backup file, it goes to the location you choose — iCloud, Files, or wherever you point it. That copy is under your control and the terms of the service you save it to (for example, Apple's iCloud). Kept does not keep a copy and cannot access the ones you make.

No accounts, no tracking

The app has no sign-in and no user accounts. It collects no personal information, uses no third-party advertising or analytics tools, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

This website

The website is separate from the app. It uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits in aggregate. For each page view that records the page, the site you came from, your approximate location, and your device, operating system and browser type. It does not use advertising cookies, does not identify you, and does not follow you to other websites; a visit is recognised only by a short-lived hash that Vercel discards after 24 hours. We use the counts to see which pages are being read. Nothing you log in the app is part of it, and the website has no accounts or sign-in. The site also remembers your light or dark choice in your own browser's storage; that stays on your device.

Purchases

Kept Plus, the optional subscription, is sold and processed by Apple through your Apple ID — we never see your payment details. To know whether a subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat with an anonymous identifier the app generates; this is used only to unlock paid features for that install. No logbook content is ever shared with Apple or RevenueCat. Apple's and RevenueCat's own privacy policies govern how they handle the transaction.

Children's privacy

Kept is a tool for a parent or guardian to keep their own homeschool records. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above will change with it.
